Share Folder between Host OS and Virtual Box and Guest OS

Follow these steps to get shared folder between host OS and guest OS in Virtual Box. Gues OS being Ubuntu

Go to Devices -> Shared Folders -> Shared Folder Settings

Click Folder with a plus sign to add new shared folder

Give Auto-mount as YES

Give access Full

Click Ok

On your host machine, have a folder ready to be shared

Ex: SharedFolderUbuntu

Go to Guest OS

Devices -> Insert guest Additions CD image

Go to terminal

Run sudo ./VBoxLinuxAdditions.run

Create a folder to be shared eg. SharedFolderWin

Run mount -t vboxsf SharedFolderUbuntu ~/Desktop/SharedFolderWin
